Retired Paterson Cop Charged with Distribution of Oxycontin & Unlawful Possession of Handguns in Bergen County
The Bergen County Narcotics Task Force was at it again this week. They have arrested and charged a retired Paterson police officer with among other things distributing prescription drugs and unlawful possession of handguns. It appears that the detectives were able to build their case against the Defendant by conducting several undercover buys back in March of this year. Then on Wednesday of this week they arraigned another purchase of Oxycontin. When the Defendant arrived in Fair Lawn, New Jersey to conduct the sale, the officers quickly placed him under arrest.
A search of the Defendant revealed not only the negotiated amount of Oxycontin pills but also three handguns: a Glock 40-caliber, a Heckler and Koch 9-millimeter and a Colt 25-caliber. The Defendant was taken to the Bergen County Jail and formally charged with possession of prescription drugs with the intent to distribute, distribution of prescription drugs, possession of a weapon while in the commission of a drug offense and three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. Bail was set at $25,000.
