Rochelle Park NJ Police Charge Defendant with Drug Distribution
The Rochelle Park police have announced that last night they interrupted what they believe was a drug deal. The initial reports indicate that the defendant allegedly entered the Ramada Inn parking lot, in Rochelle Park without signaling. An officer who apparently observed this motor vehicle infraction followed the defendant into the parking lot. Once inside, the officers allegedly observed the defendant making several conspicuous maneuvers, almost hitting several cars. Based on these observations, the officer decided to approach the defendant, who the officer claims was sweating and breathing rapidly. As a result the defendant was asked to exit the car at which point the officer noticed a bag of marijuana. It is unclear of what happened next but the K-9 unit was called in and they uncovered 87 bags of crack cocaine, 7 bags of marijuana and 5 molly pills.
The defendant was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. The defendant is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $97,500 bail.
