According to the reports, it appears that the Ridgefield police department was tipped off about an individual potentially dealing drugs out of his home. The police were notified about frequency of individuals approaching the Defendant’s home and shortness of their encounters with the Defendant. Based on that information the Ridgefield Police Department began to conduct surveillance on the home. Once they observed him conduct what appeared to be hand to hand transaction they decided to conduct several undercover buys. In total they purchased twenty-two Oxycontin pills for $600.
The Defendant, a twenty-six year old male, was arrested and charged with two counts of prescription drug distribution and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted they Defendant could be sentenced up to five years in a State prison and fined up to $200,000.
