Heroin Possession Bust in Lyndhurst NJ
A Bergen County resident brought her two year old daughter to drug deal in Lyndhurst New Jersey (for more info on Lyndhurst NJ click here). The arresting offices have reported that they originally became suspicious when they spotted a known drug user pacing back and forth on Ridge Road. According to them, just moments later the vehicle filled with four occupants pulled up. One of the four occupants being a two-year old girl, who was located in the backseat next to her mother. The user then entered the car and they proceeded to drive off. The Officers noticed that the two-year old child was not properly protected in a car seat as required by law. Based on that information, the officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle. It is unclear under what basis a search was conduct but a search was conduct. The search revealed that the user was in possession of twenty-five decks of heroin, which she claimed she just purchased from one of the passengers. In addition, another five decks were located inside the vehicle as well. As a result all four adults were arrested on various drug charges.
The mother has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy to distribute heroin and conspiracy to possess heroin as well. The mother, who resides in Newark, is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a 50,000 bail. The driver, who resides in Bloomfield, was charged with conspiracy to distribute drugs,conspiracy to possess heroin and drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $50,000 bail. The last adult, also a resident of Newark, was charged with drug possession, heroin distribution, heroin distribution in a school zone and endangering the welfare of a child. He also remains in the Bergen County Jail on a $75,000 bail.
Apparently this was a bad week for the babies mother, as the reports also indicate that her live-in boyfriend was arrested on heroin possession charges the day prior to this incident.
