A murder charge has been issued for a Dumont man. Jeffrey Daniels, the defendant, was arrested for killing his thirty-six year old girlfriend and is now facing a murder charge. Allegedly he stabbed her in the neck with a kitchen knife. The two lived with one another in an apartment in Dumont, New Jersey. The police went up to do a welfare check sometime after midnight. The police found the alleged victim’s five year old child alone in the building’s courtyard. The alleged victim was found in her apartment dead. Earlier that evening a witness heard yelling coming from their apartment. The defendant will likely be held in the Bergen County Jail pending the murder charge.
