Marijuana Distribution and Manufacturing Charges in Paramus NJ
A fire in Paramus, New Jersey leads to the arrest of four individuals. It appears that a meat smoking machine located outside the garage malfunctioned which set the garage on fire. When emergency personnel arrived on scene they observed two of the Defendant’s attempting to put out the fire with a garden hose. Then when the emergency personnel entered the home in an effort to clear the home, they discovered what they believed to be a marijuana manufacturing plant located inside the basement. Based on their observation, the Paramus police department conducted a further investigation. A further inquire revealed that the residents were in fact operating a marijuana grow facility out of the basement. In all, over fifty (50) marijuana plants, ranging in various different sizes were located inside the house. In addition, one of the Defendant’s was also found to be in possession of cocaine as well.
In all, four male Defendant’s, ranging from forty-seven years old too twenty-eight (28), were arrested and charged with operating a marijuana manufacturing plant. Due to the number of plants located inside the residence, the Defendant’s will be charged with first degree felonies. If convicted, the Defendant’s face up too twenty years in a New Jersey State Prison. All were taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $10,000.
