Wood-Ridge Police find Cocaine & Marijuana in Cresskill Residents Vehicle
It appears that a detective from Wood-Ridge happened to be in the right place at the right time. According to the initial reports, while patrolling the town, a Wood-Ridge detective noticed what turned out to be a drug deal taking place on the side of the road. As he pulled his vehicle around to approach the suspects, one of them walked back inside their home while the others, who were located in a vehicle, attempted to flee the scene. In doing so, the driver, a Cresskill resident, allegedly cut off the detective. Based on the information, the detective decided to conduct a motor vehicle stop. When the detective approached the vehicle, he uncovered the overwhelming smell of marijuana. Based on that, he asked the driver for permission to search the vehicle, a subsequent search was conducted and cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash was located.
The passenger admitted that the marijuana was in fact his and the driver admitted that the cocaine and cash was his. The driver allegedly also admits that a drug deal was in fact going down as the officers arrived. Both Defendant’s were arrested and issued summons for their involvement.
