Noise Complaint Leads to Marijuana Manufacturing Charges in Bergen County NJ

Edward John PecIt appears that a noise complaint around 6:30pm in Palisades Park lead to a fifty (50) year old male being charged with weapons and marijuana manufacturing charges. Apparently someone in the apartment complex called the Palisades Park Police Department and complained that an intoxicated man was screaming and banging on apartment doors. Upon investigating the scene, the officers were unable to locate the suspect. However, when they were unable to locate the suspect and he wasn’t answering his apartment door, they called the buildings superintendent for help. Apparently when the superintendent opened the suspects apartment door the officers immediately noticed several marijuana plants.

Upon observing the marijuana plants, the officers claim they backed out of the apartment and secured a warrant for the apartment. A further search revealed what the officers already knew. When the suspect returned home he was formally arrested. He will most likely be charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of a weapon (a knife). He was taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $35,000.
