Juan C. TacillaAn altercation during the early morning hours on Sunday leads to the death of a Palisades Park resident. According to the minimal information released at this point in time, it seems that a fist fight is what lead to the young mans death. The Defendant is a forty (40) year old male who currently resides in North Bergen, New Jersey. It appears that the Defendant was working that evening as a taxi cab driver when the incident started.  It is alleged that the Defendant picked up the victim and his friend at an establishment in North Bergen and was driving them home to Palisades Park when an argument erupted. At some point in time a fist fight ensued and the Defendant is alleged to struck the victim numerous times in the head causing the victim’s death. With that being said an autopsy is still pending.

The story came to light early Sunday morning when the victim’s body was discovered behind a Post Office in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. The Defendant was arrested and charged with second degree reckless manslaughter. He is currently being detained in the Bergen County Jail and bail has been set at $500,000. The Defendant is scheduled to have his first appearance Wednesday at 11:30 in front of Judge Steele in the Bergen County Superior Courthouse.
