A women was arrested in North Carolina and returned to the Hudson County Jail. The 23 year old resident of Newark, New Jersey is charged with the death of her boyfriend Darryl J. Williams. He was 24 old and had lived in Essex County his whole life. The victims body was found by a passerby near a Getty station on Route 3 on December 31, 2012.
It is believed that the couple had a fight sometime on or before December 31, 2012. After the altercation, it is alleged that the defendant assaulted and then bound the victim up, either alone or with the help of someone else. It is further alleged that the defendant then took the victim from Newark, New Jersey to North Bergen, New Jersey where it is believed that he died.
After the murder, the Defendant fled to North Carolina. By means of forensic evidence, a warrant was put out for the arrest of the defendant on January 9, 2013. On January 17, 2013, she was found in Raleigh, North Carolina and then taken back to Hudson County to face the murder charges. It was decided that her bail would be set at $1 million and could be paid by cash only.
She was next scheduled to appear in Central Judicial Processing court on January 31, 2013.
