2 Brothers Charged with Robbing a Bank in Bergen County New Jersey

The police have arrested and charged two North Arlington, New Jersey brothers with robbing a bank in Bergen County. It is alleged that one of the brothers, wearing a clown mask, entered and held up a bank in Little Ferry New Jersey with a gun, while the other brother waited in the car. It appears that as the Defendant exited the bank, a dye pack exploded, covering him. The defendant, now covered in the dye, entered the getaway car.  Within minutes of the BOLO, a Moonachie Police Officer, Vito De Trizio, was able to stop the getaway car. However, once the officer exited the vehicle in an attempt to approach the defendants car, the one brother took off on foot and the other brother took off in the vehicle.  The initial reports indicate that one both brother was almost immediately captured as he crashed the getaway car in East Rutherford. While the other brother eluded capture for almost two hours until the police received a little help from a K-9 unit. As a result, both brothers were briefly hospitalized following their hot pursuit.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office will most likely charge both defendants with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, theft and conspiracy to commit theft, eluding and the obstruction of justice. The was also charged with weapons possession and aggravated assault with a weapon. The brother who actually committed the armed robbery bail has been set at $1 million and the other brothers bail has been set at $500,000.
