Fort Lee NJ Hit & Run Leads to Leonia man being Charged with DUI

Andrew ChungAn eighteen (18) year old male from Leonia, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with among other things, DUI following two separate motor vehicle accidents. Apparently the Defendant was first involved in a hit and run motor vehicle accident in Fort Lee New Jersey around 6 pm on New Years Eve. However, it got worse for the Defendant. After fleeing the scene in Fort Lee, the Defendant was involved in another motor vehicle accident in Cliffside Park. This time he hit another motor vehicle head-on. It does not appear any one else besides the Defendant was injured as a result of accidents. The Defendant was taken to the Palisades Medical Center where blood and urine samples were taken.

To top it all off the Defendant was determined to be in possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia as well not having permission to take the vehicle in which he was operating. The Defendant was taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $5,000. On top of the drug charges, the Defendant will most likely be charged with assault by auto, theft of a motor vehicle as well as driving under the influence.
