Motor Vehicle Stop Turns into yet another Heroin Bust in Lyndhurst NJ
It appears that an expired inspection sticker leads to the arrest of two men in Lyndhurst, New Jersey yesterday. According to the reports released thus far, a Rutherford man was pulled over based on an expired inspection sticker. A further inquiry by a Lyndhurst police officer revealed that the van had an expired registration as well. It is unclear what happened next but a subsequent search was conducted and it was determined that the driver was in possession of heroin, cocaine, a hypodermic needle, a methadone pill and a crack cocaine pipe. As a result, the driver, a forty-four year old male from Rutherford, New Jersey was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of a prescription drug, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, along with several motor vehicle violations as well. The passenger, a thirty-seven year old male from Lyndhurst was also arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of a hypodermic needle. Both Defendants were booked in the Bergen Count Jail on a $10,000 bail.
