A Marijuana Distribution Ring Uncovered in Bergen County New Jersey

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has announced that it has indicted seven people in connection to a major marijuana distribution ring that stretched across northern New Jersey. They estimate that over a $4 million dollars worth of high grade marijuana was being shipped from Northern California to various parts of Bergen County, including the Borough of Edgewater. In addition, detectives believe that the organization has shipped approximately 1,000 pounds of marijuana from California to New Jersey themselves during their three month investigation.

The alleged ringleader and his right hand man apparently resided in the St. Moritz, an Edgewater high-rise luxury Condominium. Another alleged individual indicted was from Old Bridge New Jersey and he was charged with four separate counts of unlawful possession of weapon. In addition, they have also identified an individual who they consider to be a major customer of the organization as a New Milford resident. He has also been charged with drug and weapons offenses.

As a result of their investigation, the agencies involved were able to seize six handguns, four vehicles which include a Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Mercedes Benz, approximately $250,000 in cash, two ounces of cocaine and of course some marijuana as well. In addition, the Bergen County Prosecutor has announced that after making the arrests, the U.S. Postal Service was able to seize another 100 pounds of high-grade marijuana with a street value of $400,000,  which was allegedly sent to the individuals.
