Aggravated Sexual Assault Charges for Tennessee man in Bergen County NJ
A twenty-seven year old female has come forward and accused a sixty-two year old male of sexually assaulting her back some twenty years ago when they resided in Hackensack, New Jersey. The victim alleges that the Defendant had been sexually assaulting her starting from when she was just seven (7) years old and that it last till she was fourteen (14) years old. It appears that the victim first contacted the Special Victims Unit in Bergen County to report the allegations. Based on the victims testimony, the investigators decided to charge the sixty-two year old male with two counts of aggravated sexual assault. All they had to do now was track him down. They investigators first determined that the Defendant was residing in Dayton, Tennessee. However, when the investigators dug deeper, they learned that the Defendant was actually in Connecticut at another family members home.
The Defendant was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and was taken to the Lebanon County Jail in Connecticut where he remained in custody until he was extradited to the Bergen County Jail. Once the Defendant arrived at the Bergen County Jail bail was set at $300,000. If convicted, the Defendant faces up to twenty (20) years in a New Jersey State Prison on each count.
