A women is left in critical condition as a result of a drunken driving accident that took place on Forest Avenue on Friday. According to the City Prosecutor, John L. Molinelli, on Friday evening the women drove her car into a pole close to Norman Way, On Forest Ave. A bystander who saw the wrecked vehicle, pulled his vehicle over in order to provide assistance.

While the bystander was standing in between his vehicle and the woman’s vehicle, they were struck by a northbound vehicle that was driven by another individual. As a result of this, the bystander was pinned between both of the vehicles and received great injuries to both his legs and his head.

The operator of the third vehicle, a resident of Rivers Edge, was later arrested on suspicion of DWI. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and local law enforcement revealed that the River Edge man was legally intoxicated at the time of the crash. The results of this investigation clearly showed that the River Edge man was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

As a result of this incident the defendant will also charged with one count of second-degree assault by auto.
