Allendale NJ Resident sends 3 Hackensack Police Officers to the Hospital

Three Hackensack police officers were injured and taken to the hospital following a wild police chase of a sixty (60) year old Allendale New Jersey resident. The defendant is alleged to have rammed his vehicle into two police cars, while attempting to elude capture after he allegedly fired several rounds from a handgun during a dispute. Although the facts aren’t entirely clear, it appears that a probation officer actually witnessed the entire incident. The reports indicate that the probation officer immediately called the Hackensack police department after witnessing the defendant fire a handgun during a dispute he was having with another man and a woman in the park. The defendant then attempted to elude capture when the police arrived, in doing so, he struck the police officers vehicles several times, causing bodily injury to several officers.

The defendant has been charged with four separate counts of aggravated assault, one count of eluding, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of the unlawful possession of a weapon. The defendant has also been charged with several motor vehicle summons, including leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. The defendant is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $500,000 bail.
