Soliciting Prostitution Expected in Bergen County NJ

A Florida mother was arrested and charged by New York detectives with attempting to prostitute her own 15-year-old daughter. The women has allegedly admitted to detectives that she came up to New York City to work the super bowl; in essence, prostituting herself and her daughter. However, the defendant claims that she was under the impression that they only wanted her daughter to do the “fetish stuff”. The women was arrested as a result of an undercover sting operation conduct by the Bronx vice detectives. According to the detectives, they created an online account pretending to be a john looking for prostitutes online when they stumbled across the defendant and struck a deal for $200 for an undisclosed sex act. When the 15 year old arrived at the hotel, she immediately admitted to the arresting officers her age and where her mother was located, which was across the street in a nearby hotel.

Although this incident happened in New York, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office along with several surrounding towns like East Rutherford, Lodi, Upper Saddle River, Saddle Brook and Englewood have been on high alert for human traffickers.
