Burglary Suspects in Bergen County Finally Apprehended

IArtur Kotwica, Shaun Wildert took over twenty (20) different law enforcement agencies to take down what detectives are calling a serial burglar whom they believed burglarized several homes throughout Bergen County. It appears that the Bergen County Prosecutor’s office set up a task force specifically designed to investigate a series of burglaries that occurred within the county over the last few months. The task force included uniformed officers from not only Bergen County but Essex and Passaic County as well. From the reports that have been released thus far, it seems that the task force quickly zeroed in on a twenty-two (22) year old male from Passaic. Once they zeroed in on their suspect, they began conducting surveillance on him and in doing so they quickly identified another suspect that they believed was also involved, a twenty-seven (27) year old from Old Bridge.

During the surveillance, the task force has revealed that they observed the two suspects attempting to break into a home in Fair Lawn and Maywood, New Jersey. Based on their observations, they decided it was time to arrest the suspect. They followed him to his apartment in Hackensack and after he removed a bag from his trunk, the officers moved in. The bag in which he removed from his trunk allegedly was filled with stolen merchandise. The original suspect was arrested and charged with several counts of burglary and theft. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $350,000. The other suspect was arrested and charged with burglary and theft as well. He was also taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $150,000.
