One of FBI’s Most Wanted for his role in a Carjacking Ring was apprehended in Allendale NJ

What appeared to be another routine car burglary in Allendale turns into a major break through for the detectives involved in one of New Jersey’s luxury carjacking ring. Both New Jersey and New York detectives have been working together to try and bring down a luxury carjacking ring that is alleged to have stolen cars from the tri-state area and then ship them to West Africa where they would be sold at significantly higher rate. The Defendant is a 32 year old male from Irvington, who was wanted both the FBI and the New Jersey State Police after they discovered 140 cars and more approximately $8 million in cash. According to the police the defendant’s role in the scheme was that of a street-level fencer.

The defendant was first spotted by a witness inside 2014 BMW that was parked in a garage in the City of Allendale New Jersey. According to the witness, it appeared as though the defendant was attempting to steal the vehicle and once he saw the witness he took off. Unfortunately for the defendant, the Saddle Brook police department was able conduct a motor vehicle stop and apprehend the defendant and his partner. The Defendant was turned over to the New Jersey State Police. In addition to those charges, the Allendale Police Department has charged the defendant with burglary, criminal attempt and providing false information to police. (for more information on the offense of burglary in New Jersey, click here)  To make matters worse for the defendant it appears that he is also has a warrant out of Pittsburgh. The defendant’s partner, a getaway driver, was The driver, was arrested and charged with being an accomplice to burglary and criminal attempt as well. According to the jail records, the defendant posted $10,000 bail has since been released from the Bergen County Jail. It is unknown at this time whether the defendant’s partner had any involvement in the luxury carjacking ring.
