Bergenfield Man Charged with Car Burglary in Maywood NJ
It appears that surveillance footage was the key piece of evidence needed by the Maywood detectives to crack a car burglary. According to the reports released thus far, a member at the HUMC gym in Maywood had his locker broken into and then his car. When the victim went back into the locker room after working out he immediately noticed that the lock on his locker had been cut off. Upon a further inspection, he released that the keys to his car were missing. Based on this information, the Maywood Police Department was called in and when they inspected his vehicle, they noticed that his iphone 6 was also missing.
Based on the information released thus far, it is unclear exactly how the detectives were able to get to the Defendant but it appears that the key was surveillance footage. Once they were able to arrest the Defendant and question him, he gave a full confession. The Defendant was formally charged with burglary in the third degree, theft in the third degree, criminal mischief and trespassing. If the Defendant was not able to post bail he would have been taken to the Bergen County Jail which is located in Hackensack, New Jersey.
