2 Men Charged in Bergen County New Jersey Residential Burglaries

According to the Teaneck NJ Police Department, two males, one from Passaic and the other from Bergen County have been arrested and charged with allegedly burglarizing several homes in Borough of Fair Lawn and Paramus New Jersey. The Teaneck Police Chief is also reporting that he anticipates additional charges to be filled against the two individuals who were found to be in possession of fur coats, several women’s handbags and other items which were reported missing during the home invasions.

The initial reports indicate that a Teaneck New Jersey Detective Edward Kazmierczak was the first one to observe the two individuals. According to the Detective, once he recognized the Bergen County defendant, he began following his vehicle. During his investigation, he was able to observe the passenger toss a gold bracelet out of the vehicle. Once backup arrived, they approached the defendants vehicle and according to their reports, they saw in plain view some of the various “stolen” items mentioned above. A subsequent search warrant for the vehicle was obtained and they discovered not only a pair of gloves and ski masks but also several other items reported stolen from a residence in Paramus on Monday.

Both defendants are currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $500,000 cash only bail. They have been charged with receiving stolen property, concealing evidence, possession of burglary tools and they will most likely be charged with burglary once the police finish their investigation. In addition, one of the defendants is also was charged with hindering an apprehension for allegedly providing the arresting officer with false information regarding his identity.
