Paul Koutouzakis
Attorney Paul Koutouzakis has been practicing ten years here in New Jersey defending people from traffic and criminal cases. He began his legal career in the mid-1990s as a State Court Prosecutor in Cobb County, Georgia just outside of Atlanta. There, he was trained in and concentrated primarily on the prosecution of DUI and domestic violence related matters.
Attorney Koutouzakis received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and graduated from the prestiogious University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill in 1994, a law school that is ranked in the top 30 here in the U.S.. While in law school he was the SBA President and participated in a clinical program at the Chapel Hill Public Defender’s Office. This sparked his passion for the criminal justice system and led to his work in the prosecutor’s office.
Born in Essex County, Paul moved back and passed the NJ bar exam in 2004. After spending a few years teaching law students how to pass the bar in the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedure, and evidence, he embarked upon his practice in criminal and traffic citation defense work. He has tried multiple DWI cases, domestic violence FRO hearings, and various other Municipal Court matters with a success rate of over 70%. Paul has spent a great deal of time at NJ Motor Vehicle Commission hearings reversing, limiting, and decreasing NJ drivers license suspensions to the delight of many clients. A client recently said that “Paul is highly experienced as a former prosecutor, consistently communicated, and delivered the best possible outcome. In my experience, he’s the absolutely the best lawyer anyone can hope for. Thank you Paul, will always be grateful!”
