Aggravated Assault Charges issued Against Lodi Man
It appears that a dispute between two neighbors in Lodi, New Jersey leads to one of them being arrested and charged with among other things, aggravated assault. According to the reports released thus far, the Defendant got into a heated argument with his neighbor over a car that was parked in his driveway without his permission. Following the argument, the Defendant entered his home and retrieved a machete. He then exited his home and continued the argument. At some point in time during the argument, the neighbor alleges that the Defendant began swinging the machete in a fit of rage, striking his home several times. It is important to note here that the neighbor does not allege that the Defendant actually struck him with the machete or evens swung the machete at him.
The Lodi Police were called to the scene and the Defendant was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, aggravated assault and terroristic threats as well. The Defendant was taken to the Bergen County Jail, which is located in Hackensack, New Jersey. He is currently being held their on a $70,000 bail.
