Endangering the Welfare of a Child Charges Issued for Fort Lee Resident
The Fort Lee Police Department has arrested and charged a borough resident with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault following an incident that took place at there home on Linwood Avenue. According to the reports, the police were responding to a 911 hang up call when they discovered that a little boy located inside the residence had bruises and marks all over his neck and face. When questioned by the police, the boy informed him that the Defendant, a forty-eight (48) year old male, had pinned him to the floor and struck him repeatedly in the face.
As a result, the Defendant was arrested and formally charged with aggravated assault in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child also a crime of the third degree. The Defendant was taken to the Bergen County Jail and is currently being held on a $50,000 bail. If convicted of both charges, the Defendant could be facing up to ten (10) years in a New Jersey State Prison. The case has been sent to the Bergen County Special Victims Unit for review.
