NJ Man Arrested & Charged with Heroin Possession in Fort Lee
According to the reports released thus far, a thirty-eight (38) year old Newark male has been arrested and charged with among other things driving under the influence and heroin possession following a motor vehicle stop at the George Washington Bridge. Port Authority police officers pulled over the Defendant when they noticed him approaching the bridge driving in the bus express lane. When the officers approached the Defendant they quickly determined that the Defendant was under the influence of narcotics. In fact, the officers claim that they observed the Defendant attempting to hide heroin wax folds in the front passenger seat. The Defendant was questioned further and he revealed that he had just came from Newark where he had purchased several heroin wax folds. He went on to admit that he had just previously ingested several heroin wax folds as well.
It was later learned that the licenses plates located on the Defendant’s vehicle were in fact stolen as well. Based on their observations and the Defendant’s own admissions, he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of heroin, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft, tampering with public records, having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving with no insurance and driving while suspended. To make matters worse, it was also determined that the Defendant had eight active warrants as well. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail.
