According to the information released at this point in time a seventy-one year old male from Bergenfield, New Jersey was the victim of what appears to be a home invasion. The victim told the Bergenfield Police Department that when he was attempting to walk up the steps towards his bedroom an unknown individual struck him in the head with an object. The individual then tied up the victim and took several items from him, including $10 in cash and a debit card. When the victim was finally able to free himself he ran to a neighbor to seek help. The neighbor told police that the victim showed up at his door step with a blood face and a broken hearing aid asking for help.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released. When the police arrived the individual had already fled the scene. The Bergen County Sheriff’s K9 unit was brought to the scene to assist in the search. To date the individual is still yet to be identified and is yet to be apprehended. If the individual is caught he will most likely be charged with among other things, aggravated assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, theft, robbery and burglary.
