Heroin Possession Charges Issued in Elmwood Park NJ
The Elmwood Park Police Department has announced that they have arrested and charged two New York men twice in the same day. Both arrests accord not only on the same day, in the same town, for the same crime but also on the same street, Locust Street. The Defendants, both from New York City, were arrested twice on Wednesday for possessing heroin in Elmwood Park. During their first arrest, officers determined that the Defendant’s were both possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia. Then six hours later, the officers determined that the Defendant’s were again possessing heroin, this time twenty wax folds. It is unclear from the reports what lead to the underline searches in each case, all that has been released is what was found.
Possessing heroin is a third degree felony in New Jersey. If convicted, the Defendants faces up to five (5) years in a New Jersey State Prison on each heroin possession charge. In addition, the Defendants face fines up too $35,000, a two year loss of their driving privileges as well as a felony criminal record as well.
