Ridgewood NJ Police Charge Man with Burglary & Drug Possession as well

Criminal Lawyer in Hackensack NJThe Ridgewood police department was forced to use a stun gun on a forty-eight year old male after he failed to follow their commands yesterday morning. The Defendant, a Borough resident, allegedly attempted to break into a residence earlier that morning. The police were called to the scene and when they arrived they discovered that the Defendant was nude, only wearing a cowboy hat and yielding a glass bottle. Apparently the Defendant refused to follow the officer’s commands to drop the bottle and as a result they were required to use a stun gun on the Defendant. According to the witnesses on scene, the Defendant immediately dropped to the ground as a result of the stun gun but apparently the Defendant then proceed to show signs of having a seizure. The Defendant was taken to Valley Hospital by ambulance for further evaluation.

The Defendant has formally been charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal trespass, obstruction of justice, lewdness and drug possession. Bail was set at $40,00 and once he is released from the hospital he will be transported to the Bergen County Jail until bail is posted. If convicted of the burglary offense only the Defendant faces up to five (5) years in a State prison.
