Motor Vehicle Stop Turns into yet another Heroin Bust in Lyndhurst NJ

lyndhurst-mugs-1014.pngIt appears that an expired inspection sticker leads to the arrest of two men in Lyndhurst, New Jersey yesterday. According to the reports released thus far, a Rutherford man was pulled over based on an expired inspection sticker. A further inquiry by a Lyndhurst police officer revealed that the van had an expired registration as well. It is unclear what happened next but a subsequent search was conducted and it was determined that the driver was in possession of heroin, cocaine, a hypodermic needle, a methadone pill and a crack cocaine pipe. As a result, the driver, a forty-four year old male from Rutherford, New Jersey was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine,  possession of a prescription drug,  two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, along with several motor vehicle violations as well. The passenger, a thirty-seven year old male from Lyndhurst was also arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of a hypodermic needle. Both Defendants were booked in the Bergen Count Jail on a $10,000 bail.
