Haledon Ex-Con Charged with Burglary in Bergen County
According to the reports released thus far, an Ex-Con from Haledon is back behind bars after his DNA was found at the scene of a home invasion in Fair Lawn. The Ex-Con, a forty-three year old male from Haledon, New Jersey was arrested and charged with burglary in Bergen County after a forensic exam produced a match for his DNA. It appears that the homeowners actually came home in the middle of the burglary and caught the Defendant in the act. However, he was able to flee the scene before the police arrived. He made off with a cellphone valued at $90.
Since the DNA match came back to the Defendant, he has been arrested and charged with burglary and theft. He is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $50,000 bail. If convicted, the Defendant could be sentenced up to five (5) years in a State prison.
