Odor of Marijuana leads to Arrest of Bronx Fugitive in Fair Lawn

2C:35-10(a)4 Penalties The Fair Lawn police pulled over a vehicle for what seemed to be a routine traffic stop but when they approached the car they discovered the overwhelming smell of marijuana emanating from inside the car. Based on their observations they called in a drug sniffing dog in, who apparently gave a positive alert for drugs.

It is unclear of what happened next but the car was searched and a small amount of marijuana, a knife, a hammer, pieces of jewelry and a ski mask was located. Apparently, the passenger admitted that all of the following items were his. He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. To make matters worse, the officers further discovered that the passenger was wanted out of the Bronx in connection to a robbery. He is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $2,500 bail.
