Handgun & Prescription Drugs Found During Traffic Stop in Bergen County NJ

A Russian immigrant was arrested by the New Milford police department and charged with a slue of drugs and weapons charges. The defendant was allegedly pulled over by a New Milford police officer for speeding after he was apparently observed conducting a hand to hand transaction. According to the arresting officers, the defendant became extremely nervous when being asked basic questions. Based on his nervousness and the alleged hand to hand transaction that was observed, a drug sniffing dog was brought in to sniff the vehicle. After the dog hit on the vehicle, the defendant decided to give the officers on scene consent to search his vehicle.

During the search, the officers uncovered, several zip-locking plastic baggies, each containing different types of pills totaling more than 300 and four small bags of an unknown white powder. The pills included Oxycodone, Viagra, hydrochloride, alprazolam, amphetamine, hydrocodone, buspirone hydrochloride, morphine, and Molly. As a result of their findings, the officers were able to search the defendant’s home and they uncovered the following an unregistered .44-caliber revolver, hollow point bullets, a stun gun, 1460 assorted pills, three ounces of cocaine, nine ounces of Molly and bogus prescription blanks. 

The defendant has formally been charged with the unlawful possession of a gun, possession of hollow-point bullets, possession of a stun gun, possession of a weapon while committing a drug crime, possession of molly with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia.The defendant is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail on a $265,000 bail.
