Weyam RushdiA thirty-eight year old “student” from Jersey City, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with various felony offenses following an incident that allegedly took place in Midland Park Saturday evening. According to the information that has been released at this point in time, a women walked into the Midland Park Police Headquarters on Sunday morning and told them that she was sexually assaulted by an intruder.  Based on the victims allegations, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office was notified and they joined the investigation. It is unclear at this point in time whether or not the victim and the Defendant had a prior relationship or not. 

The Defendant has been apprehended and taken into custody. He has formally been charged with aggravated sexual assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, burglary and terroristic threats. The Defendant has been taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail has been at 2 million dollars with a no 10% option. In addition, if the Defendant is to make bail there is a no victim contact as well. Aggravated sexual assault is a first degree felony offense in New Jersey. If convicted on that charge alone the Defendant faces up to twenty (20) years in a State Prison.
