A minor motor vehicle violation on the Palisades Interstate Parkway leads to yet another significant drug bust earlier this week. According to the reports released thus far, the Defendant, a twenty-three year old male from Allentwon Pennsylvania, was pulled over on the Palisades Interstate Parkway once an officer realized the vehicle he was driving had “heavily tinted” windows. The officer claims that once he approached the vehicle he immediately smelled the odor  of marijuana emanating from inside the Defendant’s vehicle. It is not clear what happened next but a search of the Defendant’s vehicle was conducted. During the search the officers uncovered more then a quarter pound of marijuana in a backseat armrest.

The Defendant was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over 50 grams and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $12,500. If the Defendant is convicted of possessing the marijuana with the intent to distribute he could be facing up to five (5) years in a New Jersey State Prison and a fine up too $35,000.
